Classic Yachts Challenge Series

The organizing authority (OA) for the Classic Yachts Challenge Series (CYCS) is the Classic Yacht Owners Association (CYOA) in cooperation with the Organizing Authorities of the participating Series Events.

2025 Notice of Series will be released in Spring 2025.

How to Qualify for the Classic Yacht Challenge Series

Participate in at Least 5 Scored Regattas

Your boat must be officially scored in a minimum of five events during the Series.

Race Outside Your Declared District

On your CRF Certificate, you must declare a home district: Maine, Massachusetts, or RI/CT/NY. Your home district DOES NOT have to be the homeport on your transom. But to qualify for the Overall Series, you must race in at least one event in another District.

Be a CYOA Member

Scoring of the Series is managed by the CYOA staff and volunteers, your support as a member ensures the support of these efforts.

District Awards

Recognition is also awarded to boats within their declared districts that sail in at least THREE events within the district.

Division Distinction

Awards are given for the Top 3 in each Division: Vintage, Classic, Modern Classic, and Spirit of Tradition/Contemporary.

Scores Updated Weekly

Scores will be posted to classicyachts.org each week following an event.

This event in its 53rd year the season highlight for this region. The pursuit race is followed by a parade and biggest social of the year.

Herreshoff Classic Yacht Regatta

Bristol, Ri

Featuring feeder races to and from Newport, the regatta takes place on Saturday followed by awards at the Herreshoff Marine Museum.
